Holly ShulmanHolly Shulman is a public affairs professional with experience leading communications strategy for global non-governmental organizations, political campaigns, for corporations, and in the public sector – both in the U.S. and abroad.
Global Affairs: As the spokesperson for international affairs for the U.S. Treasury Department, Holly formulated and executed large-scale media plans to promote Treasury’s international work, including its work at the G-20, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. Working with key reporters in international financial centers, Holly promoted Treasury's regulatory, financial, and development priorities around the world, and served as the spokesperson for the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). More recently, Holly served as the communications director for the Center for Global Development, a think and do tank that drives better policy and practice by the world's top decision makers through research on foreign aid, as well as global health, development finance, and migration policy. Democratic Campaigns: As national press secretary of the Democratic National Committee, New Hampshire communications director for Obama for America, and as the communications director for congressional and Senate campaigns in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and other key states, Holly has managed overall strategy and day-to-day tactics for campaigns across the country. Advocacy: As press secretary for the Sierra Club, for Public Citizen, and other issue advocacy groups, Holly has used creative tactics to generate local and national media, changing outcomes of key votes. As a consultant , Holly's expertise is in transforming communications outputs into policy impact. Over the past decade, she has worked with dozens of organizations, helping them to improve their communications operations, to secure high-profile media placements, and to make change locally, nationally, and globally. |
